Entrepreneurs Unearthed
Initially developed with CommBank and EY, Entrepreneurs Unearthed is a unique mentoring program that aims to unearth, inspire and cultivate the next generation of entrepreneurs among high school students. Students work with mentors to develop an innovative business idea which they then pitch to a judging panel.
The 2015 report Boosting High-impact Entrepreneurship in Australia identified that exposing students to entrepreneurship could help address the needs of the rapidly changing global economy and support stronger economic growth.
To be an entrepreneur, you need to be a creative thinker, a problem solver, an excellent communicator and someone who has the confidence to seize opportunities. Entrepreneurs Unearthed involves students working with mentors in a series of workshops designed to equip them with the knowledge and skills required to develop a business idea. Students learn how to pitch this idea to an audience and bring their business concept to life.
In 2018, the Entrepreneurs Unearthed program won a Gold Global Best Award for business-education partnership. The award was presented by the International Partnership Network.
